10 MW Solar Project
Go Fresh conducted a feasibility study for the inclusion of solar power on the Illovo Sugar Malawi sugar estate. This project was to be sized to supplement the utility power in providing irrigation for 12,000 ha of sugar cane. The investigation incorporated not only technical and financial feasibility but also in-depth research into taxation, accounting treatment and local regulatory requirements.
Following the positive outcome of the feasibility study Go Fresh originated and ran the global tender to secure an independent power producer to deliver the project. Included in this was leading a team in authoring the Request for Proposal documents and formation of a bespoke Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
16 MW Turbo-Alternator Regulatory Review
Go Fresh carried out a comprehensive regulatory review for the inclusion of an additional Turbo-Alternator in the Zambia Sugar factory, Mazabuka, Zambia. This included investigation of the licensing and permitting re
quirements including extensive stakeholder engagement with the regulators and other invested parties, for example, the state utility ZESCO.
